Why ASA and not PLA
PLA softens and distorts at temperatures a parked ute reaches easily in an Australian summer. Pirate Camp Co print these in ASA to hold shape and resist UV. The finish is textured and low profile, so the blanks sit flush and match the panel.

Can I take them back out later?
Yes. The blanks are removable, so adding a switch or an Anderson plug later is a matter of popping a blank out rather than cutting anything.
Do they keep water out?
They close off the cavity, which is the main thing. An open switch cutout lets water straight through the panel every time you hose the ute out or drive through rain.
