Description, fitment and specifications
An under bonnet auxiliary battery mount for the Ford Ranger Super Duty (2025-Current) that uses the space Ford allocated for a second battery, so the dual battery does not cost you tub or cabin room. Mild steel with a texture black powder coat, designed around the washer bottle, which creates a height restriction through the centre of the tray.

Fitting and installation
Bolting the tray in is a socket set job. The wiring is not. Sizing cable, fusing both ends and commissioning a DC-DC charger is work for a qualified auto electrician, and we would send anyone that way who is not already doing 12V for a living.
What's included
- Under bonnet auxiliary battery tray
Not included: the battery, DC-DC charger, cable, fusing and lugs.
Frequently asked questions
Will my battery fit the tray?
Pirate Camp Co state the tray suits batteries up to 330mm long, 190mm wide and 200mm high measured at the centre. Battery posts can exceed that height because they sit off to the side and clear the washer bottle. A battery taller than 190mm still installs, but it lifts the washer bottle filler slightly so it sits on an angle and fills more slowly. Function is not affected.
Can I mount a DC-DC charger to it?
Yes. Provision is included to mount a Redarc 25A or 40A BCDC, which keeps the charger and the battery in one place instead of running heavy cable to a second location.
Can I put a lithium battery under the bonnet?
Pirate Camp Co state the tray is optimised to suit a wide range of lithium batteries. Read your own battery manufacturer's temperature ratings before you commit, because many lithium batteries have a charging temperature ceiling that an engine bay will exceed on a hot day.
Do I need an auto electrician?
For the wiring, yes. The tray itself is a bolt in job. Everything downstream of it, cable sizing, fusing and the DC-DC setup, is a job worth paying for.
