This cover is made for the 50mm square receiver used on the factory Ford tow bar for these vehicles. Many aftermarket bars use a 50mm square receiver as well and the cover suits those, but receiver sizes do vary between brands, so measure yours if you are working off an aftermarket bar. If you have fitted a light-duty bar with a 40mm receiver, this cover will not suit it.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my Ranger if I have an aftermarket tow bar?
It depends on the bar. The cover is made for the 50mm square receiver on the factory Ford bar, and plenty of aftermarket bars use the same 50mm square opening, so it suits those too. Sizes do vary between brands though, so measure the opening across the inside. If it is 50mm square, this fits. If it is 40mm, it will not. Send us the brand and model of your bar, or a photo of the receiver, and we will check it with you before you order.
Does it stay in at highway speed and off-road?
It is designed to stay put. The ribbed sides compress against the inside of the receiver and hold it by friction, the same way a factory blanking plug does, and it is meant to be pulled out by hand rather than pinned or bolted. It is a cover rather than a secured or load-bearing fitting, so if you are covering long stretches of corrugations it is worth a look to check it is still seated when you stop.
Do I have to take it out to tow?
Yes. Pull it out before you slide your tow ball mount or hitch in, then push it back in once you have unhitched. It takes a second and there is nothing to unbolt.
Will it fit a Ranger Raptor?
Yes. The Raptor uses the same 50mm square receiver as the rest of the Next Gen range, so the same cover suits it.
