Pirate Camp Co.A tub rack that tilts up on gas struts so you can still get into the tub with gear loaded on top. Closed, the platform sits 180mm above the tub. Stainless steel, texture black powdercoat, 35kg. A strut safety lock stops the rack coming down on you while you are loading underneath it.

Why it tilts
With a fixed rack you unload the rack before you can reach the fridge, which gets old on night two. The PopRack lifts on struts instead. There is room underneath for a fridge or storage tubs and a flat surface above for a rooftop tent, kayaks or bikes.
Two options, chosen by the load you plan to carry: 0kg to 50kg, or 50kg to 120kg.

Pirate Camp Co state it does not suit vehicles with a sail plane, roller shutter or tonneau cover. The factory Ford J bracing must be fitted, or their TubLock system, for this to mount.

Frequently asked questions
Will it work with a roller shutter or tonneau?
No. Pirate Camp Co state the PopRack does not suit vehicles fitted with a sail plane, roller shutter or tonneau cover. The rack needs the tub rail clear to mount and needs the tub open to tilt into, so a cover in that space is a genuine incompatibility rather than a clearance issue you can work around.
Do I need the TubLock system?
Only if your vehicle does not have the factory Ford J bracing. Pirate Camp Co state the rack mounts to one or the other. Look in your tub before ordering, because the J bracing is not fitted across every variant and finding out at installation is an expensive way to learn.
Which weight option should I choose?
Work from what actually goes on top. A hard shell rooftop tent, a couple of bikes or a pair of kayaks with mounts adds up quickly, so add the weight of the crossbars and mounts as well as the load itself. The 0-50kg option suits light gear, the 50-120kg option suits a tent that stays on.
How heavy is the rack itself?
35kg. Pirate Camp Co build it from stainless steel with a texture black powdercoat and fit a strut safety lock so it cannot drop while you are loading underneath it. That 35kg comes out of your payload before you add a tent or any gear, so count it in from the start.
