Sensor and safety system compatibility
Hamer state the Nova Series is compatible with the original factory parking sensors. Sensor coverage on any steel rear bar sits slightly differently to the plastic original, so have the system checked once the bar is on.
Rear bar rules in Australia are enforced at state level and they are not identical everywhere. Check what applies in the state where the vehicle is registered before the bar goes on, particularly if you are also changing the plate position.
Fitting and installation
It is a heavy steel bar, so treat it as a two-person job at minimum. The work lights and the trailer socket both need wiring into the vehicle, which is the part most people underestimate. Professional installation is recommended.
What's included

Frequently asked questions
Will the Nova rear bar affect my parking sensors?
Hamer state the Nova Series is compatible with the original factory parking sensors. Sensor coverage on any steel rear bar sits slightly differently to the plastic original, so have the system checked once the bar is fitted.
What is the difference between a tie-down point and a recovery point?
A tie-down point restrains a load. A recovery point takes a shock load from a snatch strap. The Nova has tie-down points rated to 3.5 tonne, which is a load restraint rating, not a snatch recovery rating. If you want to recover from the rear of the vehicle, fit a purpose-built rated recovery point.
How does the 3.5 tonne tow rating work?
Hamer rate the bar to tow 3.5 tonnes. Your vehicle carries its own towing capacity, and the lower of the two figures is the one that applies to what you can legally tow. Talk through the towbar arrangement with your fitter before the bar goes on, since that varies with how the vehicle is already set up.
Will it fit a Ranger Raptor?
No. The Raptor takes the Raptor-specific version, part MX204-FR22, listed separately as the Ford Ranger Raptor Next-Gen (2022-Current) Nova Series Rear Bar. This bar is part MX204-F22 and suits the standard Ranger Next Gen.
