Ford Ranger Next-Gen (2022-Current) Fighter Rear Bar - Option 4WD

The Option 4WD Fighter is a full rear bumper replacement for the Ford Ranger Next Gen (P703). It is built from 3mm steel on 5mm mounts, finished in matte black powdercoat, and weighs around 55kg. It fits without cutting and carries the factory tow hitch across. Reverse and number plate lights are included.

The factory rear bumper is thin pressed steel with a plastic step and it will not take a recovery load. The Fighter replaces it entirely, so the back of the truck is steel rather than plastic while the towing setup you already have stays where it is.

Sensor and safety system compatibility

Option 4WD state the bar is sensor compatible and that all factory features are retained. Sensor coverage on any steel rear bar sits slightly differently to the plastic original, so have the parking sensors and the reversing camera checked once the bar is on.

Option 4WD state the bar is ADR compliant. Rear bar rules are enforced at state level and they are not identical everywhere, so check what applies in the state where the vehicle is registered before it goes on.

Fitting and installation

The Fighter bolts to the existing chassis mounting points. No cutting of the body or the chassis. At roughly 55kg it is a two-person lift, and the reverse and number plate lights have to be wired into the factory loom, so professional installation is recommended.

Does it come with recovery points?

No. Option 4WD list rated recovery points as not included as standard. If you want a recovery point at the rear, budget for a rated solution separately and have it fitted at the same time as the bar. Do not use a tow hitch tongue or a tie-down loop as a snatch recovery point, whatever the bar is made of.

Do I lose my tow bar?

No. Option 4WD state the factory tow hitch transfers across from the original bumper, along with the towing harness. Neither is supplied in the box for that reason. Option 4WD list towing capacity as rated to each vehicle, so your existing tow rating and trailer wiring carry over.

Will it fit a Ranger Raptor?

No. The Raptor takes the Raptor-specific version, part OPTFIRB-FR, listed separately as the Ford Ranger Raptor Next-Gen (2022-Current) Fighter Rear Bar. This bar is part OPTFIRB-F22 and suits the standard Ranger Next Gen. Check which Ranger you have before ordering.
