Ford Ranger Next-Gen (2022+) Grille Light Bar Bracket - Pirate Camp Co

Mounts a light bar behind the factory grille instead of on top of the bar or up on the roof. Pirate Camp Co have redesigned the steel brace on the rear of the factory grille to take two 13 inch Bushranger light bars, and the original factory fasteners are reused.

Why go behind the grille

Two reasons. The light stays out of the airstream, so there is no whistle and no drag penalty. And it does not read as an aftermarket light bar from twenty metres away, which matters if the vehicle is a daily or sits in a work fleet.

Be realistic about the trade-off. You lose some spread compared with a roof mount because the grille sits in front of the beam. Treat it as a driving light, not a scene light.

Frequently asked questions

Which light bars does it take?

It is built around two 13 inch Bushranger light bars. Pirate Camp Co say they are working on versions for other brands, so if you already own a 13 inch bar from someone else, check its mounting hole spacing and body depth against the bracket before you order. Nominal length is not the same as a matching mounting pattern.

Does fitting this require cutting or drilling?

Mostly no. The bracket replaces the steel brace behind the factory grille and reuses the original fasteners. Pirate Camp Co do note that all Everest models and Wildtrak Rangers need a small hole cut in the plastic behind the grille. Most of the job is removing the grille and positioning the bar, not the mounting itself.

Will it fit a Ranger Raptor and an Everest?

Yes. Pirate Camp Co state this bracket now suits all Next Gen Ranger and Everest models, the Raptor included. It does not fit the Ford Ranger Super Duty, which is a separate model line with its own parts.

Is a behind-grille light legal to use on the road?

Auxiliary driving lights are subject to state road rules covering mounting position, aiming and when they may be used, and those rules apply the same way whether the light is on a bar or behind a grille. Check the requirements for your state and aim the light properly once fitted.

Does it block airflow to the radiator?

Anything sitting behind a grille occupies some of the opening, which is worth thinking about if you tow heavy in summer. Keep the bar within the grille aperture rather than pushed hard against the cooling stack, and watch coolant and transmission temperatures on the first hot climb after fitting.
