Ford Ranger Next-Gen (2022-Current) Adjustable Ladder Rack - EGR

EGR
Price: $1,389.00 AUD

A work rack for the Ford Ranger Next Gen (P703) that mounts to the side rails of an EGR RollTrac. The crossbars slide along the rails, so you set the spacing to suit whatever is going up there, lock them off, and move them again next week when the load changes. Ladders one day, lengths of conduit the next. EGR rate it at 150kg dynamic for road use and 115kg off-road, and it weighs 30kg.

If the truck spends time on gravel or on site, work to the 115kg figure. That is the one that matters once the rack starts moving around underneath the load. EGR supply all necessary fitting kits and instructions to integrate with RollTrac side rails.

EGR note that the fitting kit and instructions supplied integrate to the side rails of an EGR RollTrac only, and that you should check the load capacity of your vehicle tub because manufacturer restrictions and load capacities vary.

Fitting and installation

The fitting kit for the RollTrac side rails is in the box, so there is nothing extra to source. Bars clamp on and lock off at whatever spacing the load needs. Re-check the clamps after the first loaded run, because a rack that gets moved regularly wants a periodic torque check more than a fixed one does.

What's included

Included: adjustable crossbars, EGR RollTrac side rail fitting kit, instructions.

Not included: RollTrac roller cover, fitting, load restraints.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there two different weight ratings?

Because corrugations and washouts load a rack far harder than a highway does. EGR rate it at 150kg dynamic on-road and 115kg off-road. If the truck works on gravel, on site or on tracks, treat 115kg as your ceiling. The on-road number only applies to sealed surfaces at sensible speeds.

Do I need a RollTrac cover to use this rack?

Yes. EGR are explicit that the kit only includes the fitting kit and instructions to integrate to the side rails of an EGR RollTrac. It will not clamp to bare tub rails, a hard lid or a soft tonneau. If you do not have a RollTrac fitted, tell us what is on the tub and we will point you at the right rack.

How often can I move the crossbars?

As often as the work needs. The bars slide along the side rails and lock in position, which is the whole reason to buy this rack over a fixed one. Ladders one week, conduit the next, timber the week after. Just re-torque the clamps each time you reposition them.

Can I still open the roller shutter?

Yes. The bars sit on the side rails above the shutter rather than on it, so the cover still rolls open and closed underneath the rack. Anything strapped to the bars that hangs down over the shutter opening will need clearing first, which is worth thinking about when you set the bar spacing.
