Ford Ranger PX1/PX2/PX3 (2011-2022) Dust Defenders Tailgate Seal Kit - EGR
EGRThe EGR Dust Defenders kit seals the gaps around the Ranger's tailgate opening, which is where the bulldust gets in. It is steel side and floor bracing in black powdercoat with rubber seals, clamped against the tub so the seal is metal to metal. One part number, 038655, covers the Ranger PX, PXII and PXIII including the PXIII Wildtrak.
If you have run a PX Ranger on dirt with a canopy or a hard lid on it, you already know the tailgate corners are the leak. A tonneau or a lid seals the top and does nothing about the tailgate gaps. This kit is what closes them.

Fitting and installation
The kit has to sit metal against metal on the tub, so a drop-in or moulded tub liner needs trimming back to let it make contact. A sprayed-on liner is harder to trim and will affect how well the kit sits, so check yours before you order.
If you already run a canopy, hard lid or RollTrac, take it off first, fit the seal kit, then put the lid back on. It is far easier to pull the tub liner right out, trim it on the ground and refit it than to work around it in place.
EGR build these to order. Allow 2-3 weeks.
What's included
- Steel side and floor bracing
- Rubber sealing strips
- Fitting hardware
Not included: tub liner trimming is on you, and no canopy, lid or cover is part of this kit.
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit a Next-Gen Ranger?
No. EGR list a separate dust seal kit for the Next-Gen Ranger.
Do I need to modify my tub liner?
Yes. The liner has to be trimmed back so the kit sits directly against the tub metal.
Will it work with a spray-in liner?
EGR advise that a sprayed-on liner affects the fitment, because it cannot be trimmed back the way a drop-in liner can.
Do I still need this if I have a canopy?
Yes, and it is the most common reason people buy one. A canopy or lid seals the top of the tub. The dust comes in around the tailgate.
How long does it take to arrive?
Made to order, so allow 2-3 weeks.
